Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars
Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - As the name implies, this particular mast comprises 3 parts. The outer section mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next middle section telescopes within the external section. The innermost part telescopes within the middle part. The internal section and the intermediate section both elevate when the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides within the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is usually outfitted with a center cylinder so as to allow the fork carriage elevate some distance before the mast parts start extension.
There are two main sections in a 2 Stage Mast. The external section of the mast is connected to the lift vehicle. The inner part sits within the external section and elevates while the cylinders lengthen. The fork carriage is situated within the inner part. This mast type has a taller lowered height compared to an equivalent lift height quad mast or 3 stage mast.
